Research Grants Scheme
Minimize

The Dust Diseases Board's Research Grants Scheme is currently in its 9th year of operation and to date has approved research grants in excess of $4.36 million.

Section 6(2A) of the Workers' Compensation (Dust Diseases) Act 1942 authorises the Dust Diseases Board to fund research into dust diseases. Applications for funding undergo a rigorous, competitive evaluation process with the final decisions on the award of grants made by a meeting of the members of the Board.

Formal funding agreements are entered into with successful applicants. The agreement contains conditions including performance, reporting requirements and stage payments. Click here for Standard Funding Agreement.

You can see the list of seven research projects currently being funded by the DDB as at August 2009.

On 17 August 2009 the DDB officially invites applications for research funding commencing in before 30 June 2010. The closing date for applications is 30 September 2009.
